Interests
Outside of those things related to my project I am also interested in the following things (among others):
- History of science
- History of mathematics, particularly the evolution of mathematical symbolism and the crisis in foundations at around the turn of the century
- Category theory: as a language of structural similarity, as a foundation for mathematics, as a branch of mathematics
- Game theory, decision theory
- Philosophy of science: particularly the theory-world relation and structural realism
- Fractals and Chaos
- Paradoxes, failures of rationality and counterintuitive things generally: particularly as regards probability. e.g. Allais paradox, Ellsberg paradox, Monty Hall problem, St. Petersberg paradox, Wason selection task, Conjunction fallacy
- Philosophy of mathematics, particularly structuralism, the role of axioms and geometry
- Logic: modal logic, epistemic logic, second order logic, incompleteness
